Exercises to Lose Facial Fat

Overview

Losing facial fat requires dedication, effort and general and focused exercises. You can perform daily facial exercises to help tone facial muscles and reduce pockets of fat, streamline the jaw and get rid of sagging skin and drooping chins and eyelids. However, combining such exercises with adequate all-around body exercise and aerobics and decreased calorie intake will get you faster results. Learn a few basic facial fitness exercises that you can combine with your daily workout to lose face fat quickly.

Cheek Fat Reducer Exercise

Reduce cheek fat by performing the cheek flattener exercise. Start by filling the cheeks slightly with air, squeezing the lips together like you're going to blow a horn instrument. Hold this position for about 10 seconds. Keeping the lips pressed together and holding the air in your cheeks, move the air into your right cheek. Hold the air in the right cheek for about 10 seconds and then push the air into the left cheek, holding for another 10 seconds. Repeat this exercise several times on each side.

Double Chin Exercise

Get rid of or reduce the size of your double chin in a few short weeks by performing this exercise. Start by sitting or standing, shoulders back, chin parallel to the floor. Tilt your head back until your chin is pointing toward the ceiling, suggests Fitness Health Zone. Your lips should be closed but relaxed. With the chin still lifted, purse your lips like you're getting ready to plant a big kiss on the ceiling. Hold the lips pursed like this for a count of 20 and then relax. Return your head to the starting position. Repeat this exercise sequence 10 to 20 times several times a day.

Neck Exercise

Relieve tension and stress while working the neck muscles at the same time, reducing fat around the neck and toning jaw, chin and neck muscles. Sit or stand with your shoulders pressed down and back. Tilt your head back until you can see your ceiling, suggests Fitness Health Zone. Slowly bring the bottom lip over the top lip and hold this position for at least 10 seconds. You'll feel the stretch and pull along the front of the throat. Relax and then repeat at least 10 times.

Aerobics

Engage in aerobic exercise between three to five times a week to boost your face fat loss efforts. Your can't spot-reduce fat in a specific part of your body. Any cardio or aerobic exercise that gets your heart pumping and makes you sweat will help your body burn fat and calories, including in the face. Try to engage in at least 45 minutes to 90 minutes of cardiovascular exercise several days a week, or two hours and 30 minutes a week for optimal benefits, suggests the Mayo Clinic.
